Odierno was visiting the area of operations of Valledor's battalion, the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) out of Fort Drum, N.Y., to meet with head sheiks and leaders of concerned local citizenry. He also received updates on the push to establish security through efforts of the local voluntary defense.
