Bishop Thomas was nominated for the award by Capt. Michael Dandurand, a chaplain assigned to the 180th Fighter Wing. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedule, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed, which helps the Airmen complete their mission.
