Civilian Capt. Jay Fernandez, Area Support Group-Kuwait firefighter and Evergreen, Colo., native, demonstrates the use of firefighter equipment March 10. Among the equipment was the thermal imager, which allows the user to see through smoke to locate survivors in burning buildings. The students are part of the U.S. Department of State-funded ACCESS microscholarship program, which is administered in Kuwait by AMIDEAST.
