190606-N-XK398-1109 PATTAYA, Thailand (June 6, 2019) Navy Diver 1st Class John Reinemund, assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 1 jumps into the waters off the coast of Pattaya, Thailand, during a joint dive exercise with divers from the Royal Thai Navy, conducted from aboard the Military Sealift Command Safeguard-class salvage ship USNS Salvor (T-ARS 52) as part of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2019. This year marks the 25th iteration of CARAT, a multinational exercise series designed to enhance U.S. and partner navies’ abilities to operate together in response to traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
