Christopher Purcell, commanding officer of Patrol Squadron (VP) 4. The Battle “E” is the Navy’s top performance award presented to commands in various categories that achieve the highest standards of performance readiness and efficiency. The award recognizes a unit’s training and operational achievements while including a balance that incentivizes efficiency.
