Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta addresses the 31st Georgian Light Infantry Battalion, thanking them for their efforts and sacrifice, during his visit to Afghanistan March 14, 2012. Panetta read a letter from Lt. Col. Alexander Tugushi, the former commanding officer of the 31st Georgian LIB. The Georgians will increase their personnel in the fall, adding a second battalion to the base.
