Guyana Defense Force soldiers and Special Operations Forces ride in a helicopter after completing a training exercise as part of Exercise Fused Response 2012, March 8, in the town of Maukuria, outside of Georgetown. The exercise, which involves 500 personnel, is in order to improve military capacity and interoperability. As the special operations component of the U.S. Southern Command, SOCSOUTH works with Special Operations Forces across the Caribbean, Central and South America in order to build military capacity and capabilities.
