An A-10C Thunderbolt II “Warthog” with the 188th Fighter Wing, Arkansas Air National Guard conducts a strafing run at the 188th’s Detachment 1 Razorback Range during a Close-Air Support training exercise with Joint Terminal Attack Controllers. The JTACs are members of the 19th Air Support Operations Squadron based in Fort Campbell, Ky. Razorback Range, located at Fort Chaffee Maneuver Training Center, Ark., is a key asset and currently is the best among all Air National Guard units nationwide in terms of proximity to the wing. Razorback Range’s proximity to Ebbing Air National Guard Base allows the 188th’s A-10s to be on the range just two minutes after takeoff, which makes the unit the most efficient A-10 wing in the ANG in terms of training costs.
