Gaige enjoys a grappling match at the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (1st LAR Bn.), I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF), Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, May 28, 2019. The Make a Wish Foundation fulfilled Gaige's wish of being a U.S. Marine for a day by spending it with 1st LAR Bn., I MEF. 1st LAR Bn. hosted a grappling competition, had Gaige shoot various weapon systems at an Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer, and finally, took him for a ride in a Light Armored Vehicle 25.
