During a patrol the Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton (WMSL-753) crew identified a suspicious Ecuadorian long line fishing vessel in a known smuggling area in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Under an agreement with the Government of Ecuador and on their behalf, a U.S. Coast Guard law enforcement team conducted a boarding of the Fishing Vessel Erika Fernanda and eight smaller panga style fishing boats she was towing. Several irregularities and violations of Ecuadorian law were discovered through the course of the boarding. (U.S. Coast Guard photo)
