190510-N-DS741-0106 RED SEA (May 10, 2019) An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from the “Nightdippers” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 5, assigned to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), conducts a vertical replenishment with the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55). Leyte Gulf is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet areas of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
