1st Sgt. Ernest Villanueva, Company B. first sergeant and senior motorcycle mentor with the 2nd Special Troops Battalion “Spartans,” 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, instructs Spartan soldiers on motorcycle safety during the Spartans’ Safety Stand-Down Event on Fort Hood, March 5. After the event concluded, Villanueva and other Spartan soldiers conducted a 27-mile motorcycle ride to Salado, Texas as a practical exercise on the lessons they learned during the class.
