Two U.S. Marines in MARPAT camouflage uniforms are shaking hands during what appears to be a formal military awards ceremony. The Marine on the right is wearing a medal with a red and white ribbon on his chest, consistent with a military decoration presentation. The ceremony is taking place outdoors on a military installation.

Naperville, Ill., resident Maj. Michael M. Hoffman was presented the Bronze Star Medal by Lt. Col. William Truax, executive officer at Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group (MCSCG) during a ceremony at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek – Fort Story, Virginia, March 2. Hoffman is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans and is currently serving as a foreign area officer at MCSCG. This is the second time in his career that he receives the nation’s fourth highest combat award.
