Naval Hospital Bremerton's Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Anh Vu and Culinary Specialist 3rd Class Timothy Mitchell participated in the Battling Chef challenge as part in the Armed Forces Culinary Arts Competition on May 4, 2019. They joined other commands from throughout the Pacific Northwest for the epicurean event with culinary specialists from varied service branches showcasing their culinary skills in such categories as desserts, garnish displays, hors d'oeuvres, chili, gumbo, wings, ribs, even gourmet burgers, and a Battling Chef challenge. Vu and Mitchell took part in the Battling Chef challenge, teaming up to cook and prepare a special meal - featuring scallops with potatoes, asparagus, basil, and bacon - in under one hour, then present and display their dish to a panel of judges (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, Naval Hospital Bremerton Public Affairs).
