Staff Sgt. William A. Whitecotton, leads Pvt. Ashley L. Fleury, both combat medics, assigned to Company C, 4th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, in a reflexive fire and clearing drill through a culvert on Fort Carson, Feb. 23, 2012. Whitecotton, a native of Wheeling, W. Va., and Fleury, a native of Lafayette, Ind., and 12 other soldiers from 4th BSB, participated in a three-week course hosted by 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Feb. 6-24.
