Service members from the U.S. Army Reserve and U.S. Air Force moulage a U.S. Army simulated casualty in support of Guardian Response 19 at Camp Atterbury, Ind., Apr. 30, 2019. Moulage is the art of applying mock injuries, ranging in severity, to provide realistic medical training to supporting military units. Guardian Response 19 is a joint, multi-component training exercise controlled by the U.S. Army Reserve 78th Training Division and includes more than 9,000 service members from across the country. The exercise tests the ability of the U.S. military to respond to a chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear catastrophe as part of the Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) program. Under the DSCA program, the Department of Defense provides essential support to civil authorities for domestic emergencies. (Army Reserve Photo By Spc. Brian Jones)
