Thomas, a military working dog with the station Provost Marshal’s Office kennel, lays down to signal he has found a training aid aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Feb. 22. To keep the dogs in top form, the kennel trains with finding the explosives at least once a week, making sure the dogs don’t become complacent.
