A B-52 Stratofortress from the 23rd Expeditionary Bomber Squadron takes off as part of an Aerial Mining Exercise, April 16, 2019, at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. The B-52 is capable of flying at high subsonic speeds at altitudes up to 50,000 feet and can carry a max load of approximately 70,000 pounds of mixed ordnance. For the exercise, aircrew from the 23rd EBS coordinated with the 23rd Expeditoinary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and Navy to hone their readiness skills.
