A replenishment-at-sea (RAS) operation is underway between two naval vessels in open ocean conditions. A large gray auxiliary replenishment ship is connected to a receiving vessel via fuel/supply hoses and lines. A military helicopter, likely an MH-60 Seahawk, is simultaneously conducting a vertical replenishment (VERTREP) operation off the stern of the supply ship.

190428-N-DF478-086 SOUTH CHINA SEA (April 28, 2019) - An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter attached to the Golden Falcons of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 12 receives supplies from Fleet Replenishment Oiler USNS Pecos (T-AO 197) during a vertical replenishment with U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific Region.
