SOUTHWEST ASIA – U.S. Army Lt. Col. Charles Koon, commander of 2nd Battalion, 211th General Support Aviation Battalion, Utah Army National Guard, currently assigned to the 35th Combat Aviation Brigade, Missouri Army National Guard, and U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Anthony Shaw, 2-211th, recently completed a transfer of authority ceremony transferring operational control to U.S. Army Lt. Col. Matthew Hill, commander of the 5-159th General Support Aviation Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve, and U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Charles Booth, 5-129th. The 35th CAB, 2-211th and 5-159th are a part of Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve. CJTF – OIR works with partner forces to defeat Daesh in designated areas and set conditions for follow-on operations to increase regional stability. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Capt.
