Leading the 286th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion during their support of Operation Atlantic Resolve is Lt. Col. John Wilmot, the unit's battalion commander. He is assisted by Maj. Ian Hepburn, executive officer, and Command Sgt. Maj. Karri Bennett. As a battalion headquarters unit, the 286th will be assigned to the 16th Sustainment Brigade, which is headquartered in Baumholder, Germany, and will provide administrative support and mission command to five subordinate companies from Georgia, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and New York. These subordinate units, representing both the active Army and Army Reserve, will provide logistical and maintenance support to U.S. forces within the region.
