MISSION, Texas – (April 13, 2019) Navy Counselor 1st Class Ivan Aguilar (right) of Pharr, Texas, joined by Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Equipment) Jene Maxwell of Los Angeles, assigned to Navy Recruiting Station McAllen, speaks with Justin Perez, a junior attending Donna High School, regarding a career in America’s Navy at the Neptune’s Chariot SeaPerch Regional Competition hosted by La Joya Independent School District (ISD) at the La Joya ISD Sports & Learning Center. Recruiters assigned to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio were invited to talk with students regarding a career in America’s Navy and to spread Navy awareness. Aguilar, who became a recruiter in 2014, is a 2005 graduate of Johnny G. Economedes High School in Edinburg. Maxwell joined the Navy in 2012 after graduating from Tioga High School in Alexandria, La. NRD San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 30 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
