Sgt. Joseph Clinkenbeard and Spc. Nicholas Vanosdel, were awarded the Army Commendation medal for their actions following a traffic accident April 7. Clinkenbeard and Vanosdel both of 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, and Kim Black, a pediatric nurse and the wife of 3-8 Cav commander, Lt. Col. Kevin Black extracted and provided care to victims of a car rollover outside of Fort Hood.
