FORT BENNING, Ga. – Members of The Liberty Jump Team, a team of commemorative, veteran jumpers, parachute onto Fryar Drop Zone at Fort Benning, Georiga, during a demonstration April 4, 2019. The jumpers wore service uniforms from World War II to the present day, parachuted from a restored C-47 Skytrain. Fort Benning is the birthplace and home of the Airborne, and the event is in close coordination with 1st Battalion, 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, who conduct the Basic Airborne Course. This year’s events are sponsored by the Atlanta chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Association, but the events are intended for all Airborne veterans, regardless of which unit they served with.
