Barracks’ Marines share a piece of the birthday cake during the cake cutting ceremony at Marine Barracks Washington, Washington D.C., April 3, 2019. While the actual birthday falls on March 31st, 218 years of tradition and history were remembered today on the hallowed parade grounds at the Oldest Post in the Corps. A traditional cake cutting ceremony was held, symbolizing the passing of knowledge from the longest serving Marine at the Barracks to the shortest serving Marine of MBW.
