MIAMI (March 27, 2019) Capt. Brent DeVore, commanding officer of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) receives a proclamation from Miami-Dade County District 12 Commissioner, Jose Pepe Diaz during the Miami Navy Week 9/11 Observance at the Miami Military Museum. Miami Navy Week, March 25-31, is a series of events in the Miami area connecting Americans with their Navy. It is one of 14 Navy Weeks organized by the Navy Office of Community Outreach in 2019, and the first time Miami has hosted a Navy Week.
