The U-28A is part of Air Force Special Operations Command’s non-standard aircraft fleet and is operated by the 19th, 34th and 319th Special Operations Squadrons at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The U-28A provides a manned fixed wing, on-call/surge capability for improved tactical airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance in support of special operations forces.
