Two AH-64D Apache helicopters from the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, approach the flight line Feb. 7 here as snow capped mountains provide the backdrop. The 1st Air Cavalry Brigade began its mission in Afghanistan last June and is conducting aviation operations across four regional commands, providing ground forces with medevac support, air assault capabilities and overhead reconnaissance with air weapons teams.
