A military logistics operation is underway at a port facility, showing the offloading or loading of military vehicles from a large roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) cargo ship. The vessel, named 'SGT. WILLIAM R. BUTTON,' is a U.S. Army prepositioning ship flying the American flag. Military wheeled and tracked vehicles are staged on the pier alongside the ship's ramp.

190318-N-MW964-1060 PORT HUENEME, Calif. (Mar. 13, 2019) Seabees from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5 and Marines from I Marine Expeditionary Force offload an OSH KOSH Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) from the Military Sealift Command vessel USNS SGT William R. Button (T-AK 3012) during maritime prepositioning force training in support of Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). The inherently dynamic, scalable, and combined-arms capability of MAGTFs joined with mobility and sustainability provided by amphibious ships gives us an asymmetric advantage over adversaries. PacBlitz19 increases the ability of all participants to plan, communicate and conduct complex amphibious operations. (U.S. Navy Photo by Engineering Aid 1st Class Heather Salzman).
