Representatives from participating nations come together to formally begin Exercise Cobra Gold 2012 Feb. 7. Participating nations’ representatives from Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, U.S., Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea perform a symbolic handshake to demonstrate the commitment to plan and conduct combined joint operations, build relationships between partnering nations, and improve interoperability across the range of military operations. This year marks the thirty-first iteration of the Exercise Cobra Gold, which is an annual multinational combined joint training exercise and humanitarian effort held throughout Thailand.
