CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 16, 2019) Rear Adm. Stephen Evans, Commander, Carrier Strike Group 2, and native of Beaufort, S.C., gives the thumbs up to Navy Diver 2nd Class Mitchell LaFave of Mobile Diving and Salvage Diving Unit 2, who was diving in one of the large public tanks at the South Carolina Aquarium. They were both in the greater Charleston area as part of Navy Week Charleston. Navy Weeks serve as the U.S. Navy's principal outreach effort into areas of the country that lack a significant Navy presence, helping Americans understand that their Navy is deployed around the world, around the clock, ready to defend America at all times.
