Spc. Joseph Lecuyer holding the USO side of the sign coordinated a Lupus Awareness Walk with the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota and the USO on Camp Army Life Support Area on Dec. 21, 2011. Lecuyer organized the event with assistance from the USO and the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota. Deployments present opportunities to develop non-military specific skills during a deployment which are often overlooked by soldier themselves and employers as they seek employment. The employment working group put together by his unit focuses on highlighting soft skills. Lecuyer is deployed from Mounds View, Minn. with the 134th Brigade Support Battalion, Minnesota Army National Guard and will return home early summer 2012.
