Marshall, a native of Greenfield, Illinois, graduated from Greenfield High School in May 2017 before enlisting the following month. Alpha Company Marines are the small boat raid specialists for BLT 1/4, the Ground Combat Element for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
