ST. LOUIS (March 15, 2019) Navy Counselor 1st Class Andrew Foster, assigned to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) St. Louis, uses virtual reality goggles to show a high school student what it’s like to serve in the Navy during the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics St. Louis regional competition, March 15, 2019. FIRST Robotics is an international high school robotics competition held each year in which teams of high school students, coaches, and mentors build game-playing robots which complete tasks such as scoring balls into goals, flying discs into goals, inner tubes onto racks, hanging on bars, and balancing robots on balance beams.
