FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii (March 6, 2019) The Pacific Ocean Division (POD) Commanding General, Brig. Gen. Thomas Tickner (right) receives the Best Place to Work award certificate, on behalf of Japan District, during a ceremony at its headquarters last Wednesday, issued through the Partnership for Public Service’s annual ranking, published in December. Maj. Gen. Michael Wehr (left), deputy chief of engineers and deputy commanding general for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) presented the certificate following results of a federal survey conducted with Japan District staff, showing 84 percent of employees would recommending their organization to others as a good place to work. Results also show current and prospective employees insight on leadership, pay, innovation, work-life balance and as well as other considerations. The Regional headquarters, POD, also received a designation as a World Class Workplace, which is the highest recognition issued from the survey.
