Four Soldiers and one Korean Augmentation to the U.S. Army (KATUSA) earned first place in their respective categories and pose for a photo with Col. John Mountford, commander, 210th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB) and Command Sgt. Maj. Erick Macher, 210th FAB Command Sgt. Maj, Camp Casey, Republic of Korea, March 13, 2019. The competition served as a valuable training experience, and the winners will advance to the 2nd Infantry Division (ID) Best Warrior Competition April 2019. The winners will also participate in a training regime to prepare them for the 2ID competition.
1st Lt. Stephen Adjei, Accra, Ghana native, quartermaster officer, assigned 66th Forward Support Company (FSC), 3rd Battalion, 13th Field Artillery Regiment (3-13 FAR), 75th FAB finished first in the commissioned officer group. Chief Warrant Officer 2 Adrian Romero, Douglas, Ariz. native, field artillery targeting technician, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 3-13 FAR, 75th FAB, finished first in the warrant officer group. Sgt. Juan Garcia, Lancaster, Calif. native, track vehicle repairer, assigned to Battery B., 6-37 FAR, 210th FAB, finished first in the noncommissioned officer group. Pfc. Mark Lacanlale, Lacey, Wash. native, Chemical, Biological, Radiological And Nuclear (CBRN) specialist, 45th CBRN Company, 70th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB), 210th FAB, finished first in the junior enlisted group. Pfc. Yeon Bong Kim, KATUSA, Suwon, Korea native, human resources specialist, assigned to Headquarters Support Company, 70th BSB, 210th FAB, finished first in the KATUSA group.
