Scouts from Headquarters, and Headquarters Company, with the 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division conduct final checks of all of their gear at Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria, March 7, 2019. The scouts conducted night rapid infiltration and exfiltration into an unsecured area and worked on live fire exercises. For this mission, the scouts used their night optical/observational devices to maneuver through the terrain at night. By conducting these types of training while deployed to eastern Europe in support of Atlantic Resolve, the soldiers are afforded the opportunity to test themselves and their equipment in terrain that differs from at home back in Fort Riley, Kansas.(U.S. Army photo by Spc.
