U.S. Air Force Maj. Brant Lutsi, embarked aboard High Speed Vessel Swift, observes a venomous spider at Centro Nacional de Productos Biologicos, an anti-venom clinic in Chorrillos, Peru. Lutsi is attached to the medical team aboard Swift and is participating in several subject matter expert exchanges during HSV-Southern Partnership Station 2012. HSV-SPS 12 is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with navies, coast guards and civilian services throughout the region. It also reiterates the countries' partnership and commitment to regional cooperation throughout Latin America.
