U.S. Navy and Royal Navy divers conduct a pre-dawn mission safety brief with USS Rushmore (LSD 47) boat crews and boarding team members prior to conducting survey and diving operations in the Northern Arabian Gulf. Rushmore is currently conducting maritime security operations in the North Arabian Gulf as part of Combined Task Force 158. Maritime security operations help set the conditions for security and stability in the North Arabian Gulf and protect Iraq's sea-based infrastructure to help provide the Iraqi people the opportunity for self-determination.
