PASCAGOULA, Miss. (Feb. 22, 2019) Cmdr. Robby Trotter, commanding officer of the guided-missile destroy USS Paul Ignatius (DDG 117), Cmdr. Scott Williams, supervisor of shipbuilding Gulf Coast DDG-51 Program Manager’s representative, and Donny Dorsey, the Ingalls Shipbuilding DDG ship program manager, sign the DD250 document, officially delivering USS Paul Ignatius to the U.S. Navy Feb. 22, 2019. The DDG 51 class ships currently being constructed are Aegis baseline nine integrated air and missile defense destroyers with increased computing power and radar upgrades that improve detection and reaction capabilities against modern air warfare and Ballistic Missile Defense threats.
