Alex Kushnir, the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing aviation safety officer with 2nd MAW Safety, conducts a preflight check in the HH-46E aircrew procedure simulator aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Jan. 10. Kushnir and Maj. Brian Donovan, the director of safety and standardization and search and rescue pilot with Marine Transport Squadron 1, trained for two hours in the simulator covering all the bases on routine rotary wing flights.
