U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. ret. John L. Canley, Medal of Honor recipient, holds a M124 GAU-17 Gatling gun while visiting Marines with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367 on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Feb. 12, 2019. Canley received a Navy Cross for actions between the months of January and February 1968 during the battle of Hue which was later upgraded to the U.S. military’s highest decoration, the Medal of Honor on Oct. 17, 2018.
