An AH-1Z Viper helicopter conducts joint live fire training on Camp Ban Chan Krem, Royal Kingdom of Thailand, Feb. 12, 2019. U.S. Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, and 4th Tank Battalion conducted joint live fire training with Marine Corps Infantry and Royal Thai Infrantry. This training displayed our strength and cohesion during combat simulated situations. Cobra Gold is a Thailand and United States co-sponsored Combined Joint Task Force and joint theatre security operation exercise conducted with up to 29 nations participating annually in the Kingdom of Thailand. This exercise provides the opportunity to strengthen relationships, enhance interoperability and readiness, and reinforce our commitment to a free and safe Indo-Pacific region.
