Brig. Gen. John W. Aarsen, Commander of the 451st Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), based in Wichita, Kan., gets an update from Col. Michael Beane and the staff of the 89th Sustainment Brigade on the progression of training during Operation Cold Steel III at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif., on February 12, 2019. General Officers frequently visit major training events like OCS III to provide guidance and ensure Soldiers are getting the best training possible. Operation Cold Steel III trains and qualifies Army Reserve Soldiers on M2 .50 caliber machine guns, M19 40 mm automatic grenade launchers and M240 7.62 mm machine guns weapons systems in ground and mounted military vehicles, in order to provide lethal and combat ready units ready to deploy anywhere in the world.
