U.S. Navy Gunner’s Mate Seaman Alexis Vazquez, from Cleveland, Ohio, fires a shot line from the port side bridge wing of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) to the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Walter S. Diehl (T-AO 193) during a replenishment-at-sea (RAS) in the east China Sea Feb. 11, 2019. The Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
