Currahees from India Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, utilized the Electronic Skills Trainer on Jan. 10. The EST is a valuable tool in the Army’s training arsenal, it gives the trainee a realistic experience from a simulated range scenario. The simulated ranges save the Army money by using less live ammunition to reach the same desired training result. It also mitigates the risk that is associated with firing live ammunition on a range while maintaining most of the experience associated with firing a weapon.
