Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Adam Carlucci, assigned to Maritime Civil Affairs and Security Training Command embarked aboard High Speed Vessel Swift, assists a physical therapy patient at the Hope Haven Guatemala facility in Antigua, as physical therapy students from California State University Northridge look on. Carlucci and other service members from the Swift were at the facility to help put together wheelchairs donated through Project Handclasp. Project Handclasp is a U.S. Navy program that accepts and transports educational, humanitarian and goodwill material donated by America's private sector on a space-available basis, aboard U.S. Navy ships for distribution to foreign nation recipients. Swift and its crew are in Guatemala for Southern Partnership Station 2012. Southern Partnership Station is an annual deployment of U.S. ships to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America.
