190121-N-WI365-1179 PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 21, 2019) – Sailors observe a replenishment-at-sea (RAS) from the port side bridge wing aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) with the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) and the dry cargo ammunition ship USNS Wally Schirra (T-AKE 8). Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
