The 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment participated in Operation Darien Lift, Jan. 11, 2019 in the Republic of Panama. During the operation, CH-47 Chinook crews sling loaded construction materials to the Darien Province where they will be used to build an outpost where the National Border Service can combat trafficking before it reaches the Pan-American Highway.
