The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is working with federal and local agencies to explore beneficial uses for mulch, generated from Hurricane Michael debris, such as bio fuel, compost or landfill cover. Here, Tonja Dreke, contract specialist and Marty Werdebaugh, safety manager, visit a potential final destination site in Miller County, Ga., Jan. 16. To date, over four million cubic yards of vegetative debris has been collected in 13 counties in southwest Georgia.
